Operation Autumn Hope, coordinated through AG Yost’s Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, encompassed more than 50 law enforcement agencies and non-government partners to break the cycle that fuels sex trafficking across the state.

The Attorney General of Ohio has banned cops and the Feds from accessing the US state's database of drivers' license plates and faces until the officers and g-men receive adequate privacy compliance training.

“I share the privacy and civil-liberty concerns of those who fear misuse of this powerful identification technology,” said the Buckeye State's AG Dave Yost this week...Any requests to access to Ohio’s DMV databases, which currently contains 24 million images, will now have to go through its Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI). The eight-year saga following the death of hotel matriarch Eve Schwartz has had more twists and turns than a Stieg Larsson novel.

From the discovery of the 79-year-old millionaire's body in her apartment in Point Piper in August 2005, to the revelation that her heir - prominent cosmetic surgeon Jerry Schwartz - had filled out the death certificate, and finally, the disturbing allegations of foul play by the son's ex-partner, the story will have tongues wagging in the eastern suburbs for years to come.

But unlike in a piece of Swedish crime fiction, the mystery surrounding Schwartz's death looks set to remain unresolved.

''There are many aspects of the evidence in this inquest which are impossible to unravel,'' NSW Coroner Mary Jerram said on Friday in handing down an open finding in relation to Schwartz's death and that of her best friend Magda Wales. ''There are stark contradictions of evidence … There were pathways which never reached an ending.''

For years, it was assumed that Ms Schwartz, owner of the Schwartz Hotel empire that covers more than 20 hotels, resorts and pubs across the country, died from complications relating to lung cancer, as stated on her death certificate. But when Dr Schwartz's ex-partner Liliane Viselle went to police in 2010 with accusations of serious wrongdoing, it emerged the doctor himself had signed his mother's death and cremation certificates, and in doing so, had failed to mention a series of cuts on her wrists when describing the cause of death.

He had also signed the death certificate of Wales, who died three weeks later - a circumstance that was also investigated during the inquest.

In handing down her findings on Friday, Ms Jerram said Ms Viselle had told police that, after initially claiming his mother had committed suicide, Dr Schwartz had confessed to killing her and Ms Wales.

Ms Viselle told police Dr Schwartz had said ''My mother was in the way, Magda knew too much, I had to get rid of them.''

When challenged on this statement later Dr Schwartz allegedly said: ''Prove it, I have had them both cremated … It will cost me less than $10,000 to get rid of you.'' Dr Schwartz strongly denied these allegations, asserting that Ms Viselle was motivated by ''revenge and monetary greed relating to the company'' and a dispute over the co-habitation agreement.

He said he was the treating doctor for both women and thus entitled to sign their death certificates and carry out what he said were their wishes in terms of cremation....

..She also found Dr Schwartz, who now owns and runs the Schwartz Group, was ''not a satisfactory witness'', describing many of his answers as ''unbelievable, vague or evasive''.

She referred Dr Schwartz to the Medical Council of NSW for investigation over possible ''professional misconduct''.

Aside from hotels and his cosmetic surgery practice, Dr Schwartz heads the Schwartz Foundation, a charity organisation that was established by he and his mother in memory of his late father. The organisation makes donations to many medical and dental causes, with beneficiaries including the creation of a lecture theatre at the Sydney Dental Hospital and sponsorship of dental fellows.
