The four-part Signs and Wonders (BBC2, 1995) was about a New Age religious cult, the Church of England, academia and pit closures. Flowers of the Forest (BBC2, 1996) was a drama about allegations of Satanic abuse. Eaton was to return to the theme of religious cults in his first play for the main stage at Nottingham Playhouse, Angels Rave On (1998).

The Families of Lockerbie, which premiered at the Nottingham Playhouse, examines reactions to the release of the only man convicted of the bombing.

Dr Jim Swire, whose daughter died in the disaster, described the play as "exploitative" and said the producer should have spoken to the families.

Responding, Michael Eaton said he did not want to tell personal stories.

"The Governments of Italy and Palau, along with the Sustainable Oceans Alliance and Global Partnerships Forum, hosted a unique forum at the United Nations on February 4th, to highlight the critical issue of Healthy Oceans & Seas. The event, which was hosted in cooperation with the UN Department of Public Information, brought together world leaders, UN ambassadors, financial institutions, and leading members of the private sector
and civil society.
