It was actually made by an obscure music group (Heavens Magic) connected to an obscure religious sect (The Family International). They never became mainstream. Obscure religious groups that pops out from nowhere have a tendency to be CIA psy-op infiltrated or run, so predictive programming instantly becomes a possibility here.
Although...the video ends on a positive note. Cathy finally decides to walk away from the supermarket with her boyfriend and her soul intact and escapes the danger, and in the very end their friends waits for them, prepped and welcoming.
