On the 20th anniversary of 9/11.. The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again

The Who’s iconic anthem from 1971’s Who’s Next album performed here on B-Stage at Shepperton Studios on 25 May 1978 Filmed by Jeff Stein for the closing sequence of The Kids Are Alright. Sadly this was to be the very last performance ever by Keith Moon.

Lyrics:

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again, no, no

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
Though I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?
Yeah
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again, no, no

Yeah
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

Excerpt From Memoirs of Billy Shears, the Truth behind the Lyrics of "Won't Get Fooled Again." The song is about the Replacement of Paul McCartney. https://searchvoat.co/v/Conspiracy/2681590
Coincidentally, the Beatles song : Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, starts with the line "It was 20 years ago today" .. last verse..

I don't really want to stop the show
But I thought that you might like to know
That the singer's gonna sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, yeah

It was a Thomas Sheridan live stream which started off this train of thinking .. I haven't yet watched it all but he starts it with the thought that it takes 20 years to look back on an incident to fully understand what happened... the weapons of mass destruction lie.. and suddenly,, the concept of terror was everywhere.. and look where we are today...

phpBB [video]

Btw, I don't agree with everything Sheridan says.. but his comment that the masons have a thing about 20 year scores sparked this post.

Dark Winter Teaches Bioterror Lessons - Matt Mientka https://web.archive.org/web/20050223235 ... issueID=33
December 2001

WASHINGTON-In an elaborate exercise reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's 1964 nuclear annihilation film Dr. Strangelove, a consortium of non-profit institutions on June 22-23 at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., hosted "Dark Winter," in which the United States falls prey to a smallpox attack sometime during the winter of 2002.

The sponsoring organizations included the Center for Strategic and International Studies at the Johns Hopkins Center for Civilian Biodefense Studies, the ANSER Institute for Homeland Security, and the Oklahoma National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, and incorporated representatives from federal and state government, the Department of Defense and three civilian hospitals.

In the Dark Winter scenario, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta confirms a major smallpox outbreak in Oklahoma City during a military conflict in the Taiwan Straits between the U.S. and an unnamed Southwest Asian state. The smallpox is released in aerosolized form in three shopping malls, one of which is located in Oklahoma City, during the Christmas shopping season. In a period of 13 days, smallpox spreads to 25 states and 15 countries in several epidemiological waves, after which one-third of the hundreds of thousands of Americans who contract the disease die.

Soon, government officials close international and state borders to stem the flow of panicked refugees from disease clusters and National Guardsmen at the Oklahoma-Texas border fire shots. Oklahoma governor Frank Keating, playing himself, clashes bitterly over jurisdictional matters with "Attorney General" George Terwilliger, the former deputy attorney general to President George H.W. Bush. In days, the crisis causes mounting harm to the global financial system....

Yet, a broader consensus Dark Winter participants seem to have reached is the need for a "paradigm shift," according to Margaret A. Hamburg, vice president for biological programs of the non-profit Nuclear Threat Initiative, who acted as HHS secretary in Dark Winter. Dr. Hamburg told U.S. MEDICINE earlier this year that the new biological threat requires both a new paradigm and a new investment in public health. "We really need to think more broadly about public health and medicine as part of the national security partnership," she said.

Generally, Dark Winter participants agree that the government must invest in the capability to produce and stockpile vaccines for possible Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) attacks. "The consensus, I think, is that we need to have more vaccine available," said Col. Stephen Waller, MC, USAF, director of the Air Force surgeon general's tactical action team, who observed the exercise. "That won't address the absolute worst-case scenario but it would address many of the lesser-case scenarios and would allow us to potentially control the epidemic without losing 30 per cent of the U.S. population," he said....

THE WHO = THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION

I always found that group a bit creepy and wondered about the stupid name. I get it now, today. Interesting.

So, I've discovered a group of very left-wing and vitriolic so-called medics and scientists who seem to be working as activists on Twitter. Working to keep the covid narrative alive.

Dr Irene Tosetti - https://twitter.com/itosettimd_mba?lang=en .. she calls the Swiss people who are marching against the passport and restrictions MAGA people ..

She is involved with an org called Simple Covid https://simplecovid.org/about-us
Dr Irene Tosetti - MD, MBA, physician anesthesiologist in Geneva, Switzerland and MPH student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Dr Dominic Pimenta - Former ICU London COVID doctor and chairman and co-founder of the Healthcare Workers' Foundation (helpthemhelpus.co.uk) and director at the Modern Society Initiative.

Prof. Yaneer Bar-Yam - President of the New England Complex Systems Institute, Founder endcoronavirus.org network.

MD, MBA, physician anesthesiologist in Geneva, Switzerland and MPH student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Dr Pimenta looked familiar. Guardian article: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... r-cummings
Dr Dominic Pimenta resigned from his cardiology post after Boris Johnson’s chief advisor made his controversial car journey. Was it the right decision?..

By the following morning he’d become a national news story, and he was invited by the media to share more of what he wanted to say: how he hoped that by making a stand he might highlight the recent sacrifices of healthcare workers while reassuring the public that their own sacrifices had not been in vain, that the lockdown was saving lives, that they must maintain faith in it. Catherine Calderwood, Scotland’s former chief medical officer, had recently resigned for a minor lockdown transgression. Pimenta wanted Cummings to do the same...

..Pimenta is 33 [Guardian's emphasis, not mine], with dark hair shaved close to the scalp. We are meeting in his north London garden, while his sister cares for his young children, to discuss these past few months: the controversial decisions he has made, the decisions that turned him into a quasi celebrity and led to his resignation.

On the morning of 28 February, long after the coronavirus had escaped Wuhan and spread to other parts of the world, but before life in the UK began to change inconceivably, Pimenta published an urgent opinion piece on the Huffington Post in which he described Covid-19 as “a spectre on the horizon”, shared terrifying national infection estimates, and requested that the UK government act more decisively to ensure the NHS was prepared for the coming storm: more intensive care beds, more staff, immediate containment measures. Britain had yet to enforce lockdown – it wouldn’t do so until 23 March, despite confirmed cases in the UK as early as January – and even with significant warning, government reaction seemed sluggish...

He had watched with morbid fascination when Covid-19 first appeared in China, and then with terror and awe as it raged across the world. Soon, the bad news came in an endless flow. Pimenta’s wife, Dilsan, is also a doctor, and they began sharing emerging research with increasing frequency. It did not paint a pretty picture. A week before Pimenta published his opinion piece, while the pair sat at their kitchen countertop eating soup to stave off the February cold, Dilsan shared worrying news.

“It’s in Italy now,” she said........

In June, Pimenta started writing a book. He had been approached by a publisher to write an account of his personal experience on the frontline of the pandemic: about those anxious early days..

Pimenta will receive a writer’s fee for the book, but its royalties will be donated to Heroes, a charity he set up in March in response to the UK’s critical shortage of PPE. Heroes has since developed into a support network for the welfare and wellbeing of NHS workers, partly because Pimenta is concerned about the long-term emotional toll the outbreak will have on them – the pressure and agony of the situation, of so often being helpless while patients suffer. A recent Chinese study found that front-line nurses in Wuhan experienced “a variety of mental health challenges, especially burn-out and fear”...

After he resigned, a friend asked Pimenta if he would be interested in getting into politics. It was a logical question – strangers on Twitter had asked the same – to which Pimenta replied, “Hell, no.” The pain inflicted on his family by negative reaction to his decision means he will engage in “public life no more than necessary”, he says. But he does have an interest in affecting policy, particularly within the NHS. His resignation catapulted him into “the national conversation”, he says, and he can see the seductive power in that, in being able to do more than “just shout at the TV” when he feels something is wrong. Maybe he’ll become a media doctor after all. ..

NHS Million https://www.nhsmillion.co.uk/about
WHY WAS NHS MILLION CREATED?
For some time now, the NHS has been under the cosh. There are lots of reasons for this: financial pressures, negative press coverage, and being something of a football at a time of heightened political tensions.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, therefore, morale amongst NHS staff has taken a dip and, unless checked, this downturn has the potential to damage the ability of the NHS to function brilliantly, and to perform at its best for its patients.

NHS Million has been created in response to all of the above. It is a non-profit campaign with the aim of creating a ‘superteam’ of a million people who will love and cherish the NHS and want to celebrate the everything that's great about it...

NHS Million was founded in 2016 by Joseph Blunden, an NHS employee who works with hospitals around England to improve the experience of patients and staff, and Dr Katharine Rogerson, a children’s doctor based in London. In 2020, they were joined by Dr Samantha Batt-Rawden, an intensive care and air ambulance doctor in the south east.

The trio frequently work with a range of other NHS staff and patients to deliver important initiatives.
Joe Blunden https://twitter.com/nhscommsjoe?lang=en
NHS worker, tweets mainly about communications, patient engagement, QI and football. Leader of #NHS4XmasNo1 and #NHSVoices.

Prof. Yaneer Bar-Yam https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaneer_Bar-Yam

Yaneer Bar-Yam (born 1959) is an American scientist and activist specializing in complex systems. An expert in the quantitative analysis of pandemics, he advised policy makers on the Western African Ebola virus epidemic[1] and founded EndCoronavirus.org, a global network of over 4,000 volunteers formed in February 2020 to provide information, guidelines, and policy advocacy to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.[2] He is the founding president of the New England Complex Systems Institute (NECSI), an independent research institution that studies complex systems science and its real-world applications...

Bar-Yam was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He was chairman of the International Conference on Complex Systems, an annual forum dedicated to bridging the domains of complexity science and real-world systems, and is the managing editor of InterJournal, a NECSI publication on selected topics in science and engineering.

Bar-Yam is currently a Research Scientist at the MIT Media Lab, and is the managing editor of the Springer book series on complexity..

Bar-Yam is the president of Cambridge, Massachusetts-based NECSI, an independent research institution and think tank dedicated to the study of complex systems and its applications to solving real-world problems. NECSI was established by faculty members of various New England academic institutions, including MIT, Harvard, Brandeis, and others, to encourage collaboration among researchers. ..

Bar-Yam has advised many policymaking and regulatory bodies on various topics, including: the Pentagon's Chairman Action Group on global social unrest and the crises in Egypt and Syria; the National Security Council and the National Counter Terrorism Council on global strategy; the Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group on military force transformation; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on delivery of prevention services and control of hospital infections; Congressman Barney Frank (as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee) on market regulation and the financial crisis..

In a 2006 paper co-authored with Erik Rauch, Bar-Yam introduced global travel (e.g. international long-distance flights and overseas shipment of livestock) as a new variable to his earlier pandemic models, which yielded a nonlinear relationship between the amount of global travel and the ultimate severity of an outbreak. Specifically, the authors found that up to a certain point, increasing global travel had little impact on the overall severity of an outbreak. However, when the amount of travel approached a critical threshold, the ultimate severity of the outbreak (and its likelihood of becoming a global pandemic) increased suddenly and sharply.[11] "Due to increasing global travel," Bar-Yam and Rauch wrote in the 2006 paper, "human beings may cross the transition into the realm of pandemics unless preventive actions are taken that either limit global transportation or its impact...

During the Western African Ebola virus epidemic which began in 2013, Bar-Yam advocated in favor of curtailing transportation from West Africa, arguing that even in cases where significant interconnectivity between populations already existed, even a small amount of additional interconnectivity could dramatically increase the severity of an outbreak

Bar-Yam also advocated in favor of community monitoring to fight the Ebola epidemic. The conventional response to infectious disease outbreaks emphasizes individual contact tracing, i.e. the effort to locate all individuals who were in contact with an individual known to carry the disease. Bar-Yam argued that it would be more effective and efficient to monitor local communities (defined as a natural population unit to and from which transportation can be logically curtailed)[11] as a whole—in other words, to treat an entire community as "infected" once one individual in that community is infected, and then intensively screen that community for additional cases while instituting local transportation restrictions. This type of community response would progressively limit the disease to smaller geographical areas, Bar-Yam argued, while improving the allocation of resources.[13][14] Bar-Yam argued that community monitoring played a significant role in halting the Ebola epidemic in Liberia...

On January 26, 2020, one week after the first case of COVID-19 disease in the United States was reported, Bar-Yam co-authored a note with Nassim Nicholas Taleb and Joseph Norman. The note outlined several principles in connection with the novel coronavirus outbreak, and argued that policy responses should follow a precautionary approach, including drastically constraining human mobility patterns as soon and as swiftly as possible.[16]

On February 29, 2020, Bar-Yam and NECSI established EndCoronavirus.org, a global volunteer network, to provide information and guidelines for action to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. EndCoronavirus.org was among the first organizations in the United States to offer specific guidelines for policymakers, businesses, and individuals. As of May 2020, EndCoronavirus.org had over 4,000 volunteers..

On March 13, 2020, the "Coronavirus Guidelines for Businesses" written by EndCoronavirus.org were adopted by the International Chamber of Commerce, the global business organization representing over 45 million members in over 100 countries.[18]

On March 21, 2020, USA Today published an opinion piece by Bar-Yam, in which he argued for an immediate five-week lockdown in the entire United States to defeat COVID-19

20 years .. from 2001...

11 years later, in 2012 the London Olympic Games with its opening and closing spells.. BJ, that is Boris Johnson was mayor..

9 years later, in 2021 JB, ie Joe Biden leaves Afghanistan with a couple of Afghanis falling from the 'plane'...

911; 11/9... BJ > JB

In 2001 the conservative Bush Jr. was president, while the left's Tony Blair was Prime Minister
Now we have a Democrat in the White House and a Conservative Prime Minister in the UK.

Back then the left was cool, today it's the right winning the culture war.
Bait and switch, bait and switch.
