A lot to unpack in this 2012 article about Ron Burkle as far as name dropping goes (Weinstein, Michael Jackson) but to get to the point regarding this post and Relativity Media...Burkle invested in Relativity Media. The article is quite long TLDR atm and looking up Burkle on SV archives shows a lot of info too... it's a hornet's nest of Hollywood, Wallstreet, Politicians, Epstein's plane, all the same old same old.

In the past seven years, Kavanaugh has proved adept at structuring deals where investors have done poorly while he and Relativity prospered. Burkle emphasizes that he understands the risks of investing in the movies, particularly for outsiders. “By and large, it’s an ego thing to do,” he told me. “The more fun something is, the sexier something is, the more idiots there are chasing it, and the less likely you are to make money.” But his relationship with Kavanaugh has prompted febrile speculation: Has Ron Burkle, the shrewd supermarket magnate with a habit of getting the better end of a deal, been beguiled by Hollywood?

Ron Burkle and his Yucaipa Cos. investment firm closed a second investment in Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media, sources said Monday.

News that Yucaipa would be buying out much of Elliot Capital Management’s interest in Relativity leaked a few weeks ago, though insiders say a further investment has been made since then...
...Relativity represents Burkle’s latest advance into entertainment. He has also helped to finance movies from Harvey and Bob Weinstein and helped finance the launch of Al Gore’s Current TV. He recently bought concert-booking agency Artist Group International and the Soho House Clubs, a chain of private clubs founded in 1995 for people in the creative industries.

"A list public figure. Foreign born. He specialized in throwing even more money around. He had the most of the bunch. He also had connections within an organization that not only helped launder money but also provided women as needed who were not actresses. There were some investors who enjoyed things more rough and if something happened to one of these women, they were shipped to some far corner of the world, deep underground.

Brett Ratner in the center.. the bit about Ratner in the CDAN reveal:
Another A list director. He was responsible for finding women for all the studio bosses. All of those casting calls and the executives would just happen to stop by where he would talk them up. Then, the executives would stand around watching and so many of those actresses would find the time to walk up to the executives and they just took their pick. The problem with this A list director is that he was stealing from the studio which later caused the executives to turn on the director.

Ratner was accused of sexual harassment by 6 women, it was reported throughout the media rags. Here's an account of him teaming up with Russell Simmons to assault women, one when she was 17
