Yes it's my current project but non-trivial. My strongest skills are functional (database, networking, javascript). Appearance (html, CSS) are harder for me.

Perhaps @The_Venerable could apply his appearance skills to SVF? SVF already has SSL and the community. Creating a clone separate from this would serve to split the community and divide our resources. Of course establishing a Voat appearance from scratch might be easier than applying it to existing infrastructure like a forum.

I think the forum will continue to grow as it has verified users. That was genius and is an invaluable asset. It's definitely possible to create a voat like layout from a mesage board. I've created a basic front page before that displayed topic titles and looked voat-like. But getting everything working properly and implementing all the functions and features of the forum would be a pain. Probably is easier to create a new site.
