Excuse me mr racist, but how do we know that's a house in SA? It could be a picture of a house in Australia or Antarctica or wherever and the price just photoshopped in there - just to make our BEE comrades look bad.
Building things is expensive in the Democratic South Africa. The apartheid regime never cared about following building codes and laws, so of course everything was cheap back then, both materials and labor.
Now we have regulations that have to be followed, for the sake of the People, and that requires extra care and work. No slapping together two planks and calling it a day like in the Bad Old Days.
