Settlement of the mercantile port began in 1638 by a company of English colonists who came from London via Boston under the leadership of the merchant Theophilus Eaton and the Reverend John Davenport, a Puritan minister. The new town, originally called Quinnipiac, was laid out by 1641 on a nine-square grid a plan reminiscent of ancient Roman military camps covering an area measuring a half-mile square. While the eight surrounding squares were divided into house lots, the center square was reserved for the green. This common land was the site of the first meetinghouse and a burying ground.

Because New Haven was envisioned as a thriving commercial port, however, the green was also conceived as a trade center and town square, and was in fact known as "the market place" into the 1700s. It contained the town's watch house (built by 1645), the jail, and the first school, all of which are believed to have been located near the corner of present-day College and Elm streets.

We have to look closer at the company that operates out of the Caracol Industrial Complex that the Clintons set up, SAE-A Trading, a Sth Korean business that specialises in textiles and garments with Walmart, (Clinton Donor) & JC Penny being the biggest customers.

Now, apparently Ban Ki Moon is closely associated with them but I haven't found the connection yet. Head of the UN, Ban Ki Moon appointed Bill Clinton special envoy to Haiti to head the relief straight after the hurricane and then SAE-A came on board in 2011/12. Chairman of SAE-A is Woong-Ki Kim, a very influential businessman that has utilised the services of Cheryl Mills consulting company, Black Ivy. Richard Branson has also invested in the factory.

SAE-A, (Clinton donor), has offices and factories in Haiti, USA, Sth Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Nicaragua & Guatamala. They support many causes and fund lots of projects but 3 notable ones are the Tam Binh shelter and orphanage near the Vietnam factory, an orphanage in Guatamala and the S & H schools in Haiti. The Clintons joined Woong-Ki Kim at the grand opening of the textile factory which is not benefiting the workers or the Haitian farmers, on the contrary many farmers were kicked off the land to accommodate the build and the workers spend most of their daily wage on transport to and from the factory and buying lunch. Now how easy would it be to bring in children from Asia and Sth America in containers if you had UN backing?

Meet the Silvestri family that run Casa de Campo - Claudio and Rosthwil Silvestri, their son Philip and British wife Rebecca

My husband Philip is just as interesting. Born in the US (Phoenix, Arizona to be precise), to an Italian father and a German mother, at the tender age of 4, Philip found himself living in the Dominican Republic..His father, Claudio Silvestri, was the president of the famous Casa de Campo resort, and so Philip grew up enjoying all that paradise had to offer, from golf, to horseback riding, to the freedom of getting around in a golf cart! Mixed in with all that fun, however, Philip also got plenty of real-life experience on internships that took him all across the world, from Japan to Europe. Later graduating from Babson College, Philip started his own web development business in Miami (Boston had proven far too cold), and before long had relocated back to the Dominican Republic and Casa de Campo.

Back in the DR, Philip expanded his web design business into publishing. His first print magazine was CasaLife, the exclusive magazine of the Casa de Campo resort, published in 2005.

A surprise proposal at Disney...we bought a ridiculously large red sparkly Minnie Mouse ring. It was perfect.

On a side note… How we came to “inherit” Plano Profile....

“Once upon a time, a close-knit circle of friends embarked on a Caribbean cruise. Among the ports of call was La Romana in the Dominican Republic, home of the exclusive resort Casa de Campo.” Reminisces Jean Newman, founder of Plano Profile. Part of the group was former Plano Mayor John Longstreet, who, having leased office place from Philip’s father, Claudio Silvestri, is a dear friend of the family. John was also celebrating his 50th birthday and so Claudio, at the time president of the resort, invited the group to celebrate at his villa. (A little background here, not only was Philip’s sister, Jacqueline, born here in Texas, but his parents, Claudio and Roswitha, loved it so much they have had a home and commercial real estate business in this area ever since.)

..Today, just like Toyota, Fedex and Capital One, Philip has chosen to relocate his corporate headquarters to Plano and is managing our DR publications, as well as the web development business, from our offices on 15th Street.

Yesterday, Investigators with the Plano Police Department and the Collin County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Pear Ridge Drive in the Collin County portion of North Dallas. Investigators went to this location to gather evidence in an online child pornography investigation.

The equity fund's portfolio includes the National Fostering Agency, Acorn Care and Education's fostering firms and at least two military hardware companies AD Industrie and Mettis Aerospace - which makes missile and torpedo parts. The agencies earned £15million in profit last year from fostering and care - money which campaigners say should be going back into the system.

Turnover for the National Fostering Agency grew by an extraordinary 46 per cent last year to more than £100million.The equity fund - which paid £435million for the two care businesses - also uses a holding company called SSCP Spring Holdings SCA based in Luxembourg to route cash out of the UK.
