Trump and Xi seem to genuinely get along, and I can imagine that China would equally like to free up its monetary system. As good of a run as the last 30 years have been for them, the writing must be on the wall that the whole system is coming down one way or another. You can make the case that China may be onboard because the virus seems to be relatively tame with a ready made cure. Not much of a bio weapon.
