I lived most of this because I was unemployed and looking for work. So I spent a LOT of the Shesiostene Era here.
@She was a mod in AskVoat. She started causing minor problems w deleting posts. People started calling her/him a SJW from Reddit. Then @She started deleting threads which didn't have a question mark at the end of the title. Regardless of the activity in the thread, threads w many upvoats and comments were deleted. She said it was against the rules, a title had to have a question mark. This caused an uproar among the users of AskVoat. This was basically the beginning of v/ProtectVoat as well. @She was asked to step down. She refused. Users began downvoating her repeatedly, into the negatives. Making it impossible for her to mod the sub she refused to give up. Users were told to make their own Ask Subs. Which is where v/AskGoat came from. The Admins ignored all this for a long time.
At some point early in all this @She had requested Mod1 status of AskVoat. That request sat through most of this drama. Until finally @PutItOut fulfilled it. @She was Mod1 of AskVoat. This brought things to a raging boil. And IIRC this is where the downvoats of @She REALLY ramped up. She now owned the sub, but couldn't actually mod the thing.
I believe it was @ThePenisWizard who claimed to have nudes of @She and posted those.
And eventually @She deleted her account. This left AskVoat w/o a Mod1. Eventually (and I'm sorry I can't remember the user, they were really active at the time, but the name escapes me) a user requested it. With the explicit statement, that all current mods would be removed, and the rules would be mostly eliminated until things could be sorted out. (The removal of the mods was seen as needed because there were still accusations of SJW against those mods.) And that User would then turn over AskVoat to @System and step down. All of that happened. AskVoat was now an @System sub
Many things were said, Brigades both Up and Down some organized, some spontaneous were had. Many animosities were made. SDBH vs PV has it's origins here.
You can really flesh it all out if you do searches in AskVoat and mainly in ProtectVoat. No matter your feeling on PV, this is all documented there in their threads, and the links inside those.
I feel like I should rewrite this in a little more coherent manner. Oh well, that's a nutsack version of how it all went down.
