It worked great. Reddit numbers have dropped steadily ever since. They need to keep up the good work if they ever hope to live up the MySpace benchmark.
Not true. as normies flee Facebook and Twitter, they go onto secondary social media platforms like reddit and tumblr. And people still complain that reddit is right wing in spite of all the censorship to the contrary :P
The bit that concerns me is that people are making an effort, with apparently institutional backing and attendant credentials, to make something that couldn't possibly be science look scientific.
Hate speech can not be quantified. Calling my friend a fag is not hate speech, while telling a stranger that they were definitely born inherently flawed and that god doesn't love them requirs no recognizable slur.
Also, they seem to assume a causal link between the closing of coontown and a reduction in hate speech, but the only comparison that matters is hatespeech rates in reddits other than coontown before and after its closing. But there wouldn't have been hate speech in other reddits, because other reddits are run by sjws and ban it.
I think a number of other things were narrow minded in their analyses, such as reddits unique market share obscuring the utility of their tactics for other forums.
Doesnt mean the posters left, many used alts to post on different types of subs and may have just abandoned the username that was used to post on banned subs. If I was in the mood to talk about sports or hobbies, I didnt want to have to deal with replies in threads about poltics or sjw bashing or something.

I was shadowbanned when FPH was banned. Of course I couldn't use the same account to post.
Then again, what's the point if every thread on reddit is the exact same thing.

Their hard crackdown has created a competitor (Voat) in what was previously a monopoly.

Gab is to twitter as voat is to reddit, in terms of numbers

It's a pseudo-science paper to "prove" censorship makes people nicer.

When presenting facts about racial distribution of violent crime is considered hate speech, the term has no meaning anymore.

What in the shit.. Why are these universities and institutes researching some thing like this in so much detail?..

I have a normie account and a Nazi account. I haven't been using Reddit much, though.

same thing. I've got at least 12 alts that I use for different things, each with a different personality too.
