Odd how this glacier formed.

If I had a guess, I'd say higher ground = warmer surface area?

Don't really know, we were 30,000 ft. And we were on our way to the station I spoke of before delivering a D-6 dozer. I just thought it was an interesting formation and took a photo of it.
