Pro Patria is Latin "For Ones Country" The Medals laid at the Cenotaph at the end are as follows, right to left the CD or Canadian Forces Medal for 12 Years or more of service, the South West Asia medal(Afghanistan) Sacrifice Medal (given for being killed or wounded in action) the Canadian equivalent of the US Purple Heart. I had to think about this one for awhile and decided to post it today to honor my brothers in arms lost in a war. I am not ashamed to say I shed tears for each and everyone who was killed. I personally knew a couple of them and had served with them when they were the young soldiers who had joined for the same reason I did, to protect my family and my country if called upon to do so. They are the real hero's, I'm just a guy who got lucky and came home in one piece twice. PRO PATRIA my friends.
