Btw, someone just told me something funny: apparently the standard of English (spoken and written) in Durban is regarded as the "best" in SA because there are virtually no Afrikaners up there so there's no Afrikaans influence on the language the way there is in the Western Cape where it's roughly a 50/50 split between English and Afrikaans speakers. I told her there's this nutter on here from Durban who can barely string a sentence together in English so she's very much mistaken.

Nowadays, it's getting more and more difficult to find something that speaks proper Durban English, because the city is so full of kaffers and indians that don't speak anything near clean English.

In the future, people will have to look up recordings from pre-1994 to hear people speaking proper English.

Sigh. Now I have to try and find more old videos on Youtube from that era and before, just to reminisce on how good things were.
