Thankfully my town is about as red and right wing as you can get. Our biggest issue are meth-heads, but they seem to...uh...."disappear" at a steady rate if you get what I mean.

I aspire to live in a red place - must be so civilized. I wish I hadn't just always assumed I needed a big city to survive in, it really limited me to democratic shitholes.
You do not need a city to have a fun and fulfilling life. I can find everything out here that I could find in any city. Yes, it takes some looking and if you are addicted to Starbucks or Panera bread you are fucked but I know mom and pop coffee shops that blow Starbucks out of the water. You just have to let go of that consumer capitalism mindset that says you NEED big city bullshit.
