Many songs have been written about it, but this one has always been my favourite.

Boers made a covenant with god; they were vastly outnumbered, but if he would grant them victory in this particular battle against the bantus, they would always commemorate the date.
He did ..the river ran red with the blood of bantus, that's why it's also called the Battle of Blood River.
