Something you'll never see in big English-language publications- as usual it's hidden away in an Afrikaans-language paper in the hopes the outside world won't notice.

White farmers and some of their Cape Coloured workers in the agricultural community of Paarl (one of my favourite places) turned up to show support for 2 White farmers who are being prosecuted for murder of a black criminal who was trespassing and stealing fruit.

In the video interview, a local farmer says theft of fruit from farms is a major problem. The fruit is stolen and sold by street vendors. He says they are there to support the 2 farmers and raise awareness of the problem.
He says the thieves harass the (Cape Coloured ) workers and their children.

If you scroll down the article, you see a farmer holding a picture of the types of weapons these fruit thieves are armed with.

Why do you keep suffixing "colored" with "cape"? What other goddamn coloreds are there?

Also, what is it I see in them images? A sjambok, perhaps? If that ain't SA culture, then I don't know what is!

Well you and I know that, but very few people here know who/what Coloureds are. In fact, no one outside of SA knows they exist except for the few people on OldVoat who paid attention to my posts.
