SESTRI LEVANTE, GENOA – An 18-year-old girl died 12 days after receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Camilla Canepa, a student, got her shot on May 25th. She suffered multiple health issues shortly afterward. She was hospitalized with blood clots due to the AstraZeneca shot. She died on June 6th as a result of a brain hemorrhage. Italy banned the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for under-60s after her death.
Camilla received her dose on May 25th, which was an “open day” in Italy for anyone over the age of 18 to receive the COVID-19 vaccines. She went to the emergency room at Lavagna Hospital 8 days later, complaining of severe headaches and extreme light sensitivity. A CT scan and neurological tests found nothing, so doctors discharged her. But she returned to the ER at San Martino Hospital just two days later.
Camilla was diagnosed with cavernous sinus thrombosis, a blood clot in the space between the eye sockets and brain. It blocked the primary vein between her head and heart. Doctors also discovered that she was bleeding inside her brain. She underwent multiple emergency surgeries for the cerebral hemorrhage but the doctors weren’t able to save her.
A surgeon who operated on the young Italian was quoted saying “You have never seen anything like this,” referring to Camilla’s venous sinuses, which were all blocked with thrombi.
A manslaughter investigation was opened by the chief prosecutor of Genoa
