Polytheism allowed a more tolerant society.

People were more tolerant or dismissive of different behavior in the past due to polytheism.

For instance someone drunk in public was considered a follower of Dionysus.

A warmonger would be considered a follower of Jupiter, Mars, Hercules, and Sol.

Peoples behaviors were molded or controlled by these archetypes and since there are more varied archetypes with polytheism you could
have a more varied society in terms of beliefs and behaviors.

Stories about Gods were an early form of programming and used to create the strata of society.

Do have any actual examples of this increased tolerance or are you just pulling it out of your ass? The only example of that I can think of was possibly Rome, but they wouldn't hesitate to go after followers of any other religions when they saw it as a risk to their power.

No they were not, not in the ways that matter anyways.
Cheaters were killed, race-mixers were killed, cucks were killed, etc.

You have a good point. TBH I'm ignorant of what society was like under Roman or Greek rule.
I still feel you must have some tolerance for your family members, neighbors, and fellow men.
