I could say the same thing. I thought about being nice but you are the one laying down an ultimatum. It gets old. Like you've said, it's been 3 years. Three years of people doing the same thing you are doing now.
You'll see when I have time to make a post that everything is really ok and you are over reacting based entirely on false assumptions.
The truth is no one cares what you guys post(its all public lol), there is no gag order, no conspiracies, just a site with politically incorrect memes and an upward and difficult road just to stay online.

Here is the thread composed by searchvoat.co. This was probably where @system and @freshmeat crew's strong reaction to SBBH group was rooted. Even after Voat was gone, the narrative of Putt selling out Voat (to PIA) still carries on. It is a useful element to legitimize a site on the top of Voat. See, we are so much better than Voat; we do not sell out, ever.

I was never able to fully understand the PIA controversy. It seemed that the post deshy made about it was genuine. Or i should say, the questions that were asked were genuine.
How did all of that not point to KAPEs involvement? What was the real reason Putt couldn't sell voat to one of us?
Without understanding what was happening it became too hard to follow.
Also, how sure are you that @The_Venerable, is freshmeat?

At first we thought Voat was hacked . The second thing that came to mind was that Voat's source code repo was tempered with, since Edon was running git server (I forgot which domain/subdomain it was on, but they did have a site for git repo) and we assumed it was hosted there. Putt later confirmed that it was not tempered and that he relabeled it. I think he was setting up Voat-like site for them. The info SBBH folks gathered at the time seemed reasonable after all. To the end of Voat shutdown, we also discovered that Voat had an irc test subdomain. According to the site log (if it was genuine), Putt setup the irc.voat.co and connected it to other servers. There were several servers initialized within that time-frame, which would imply that they were initialized at the same time. If I remember correctly, the setup log is no longer there. I believe that Putt was performing this service, in exchange for funding. This is my speculation. The kike's acquisition made Voat look very sketchy. Imagine how Putt could explain his way out of this, or how he could have managed to explain his way out of years of accusations of being a sellout .

This would be my speculation. If he were to hand Voat to one of us, which I do not believe he would just "sell" it, then whom would he trust to not compromise Voat's user data or turn it into a real honeypot?? If I remember correctly, Voat even hashed user's IP and was very privacy oriented. When Voat was served, the fed could not get anything useful out of it, in regard to user's identity . If I were in his shoes, I would not know if I could pass Voat to someone I supposedly trust and risk exposing any user's privacy on Voat. He did personally state in the PM that only he had the access and nobody forced him to shut down Voat. I believed him. I guess this all comes down to whether one believes in his integrity.

They (@freshmeat crew) showed very strong emotional reaction towards SBBH group. That reaction is as personal as it has gotten, after years of interaction. You should watch how they got so triggered sometimes, just like @freshmeat, or how he threw out the rules. My favorite was how they told users to kill themselves XD. But I do not think @The_Venerable is @freshmeat himself. @freshmeat probably contributed resource for the development. I should have archives about this subject saved somewhere. Also, there is a slight chance that the @system (developer) account might be shared. He claimed to be an old-time Goat (my fellow goat ); yet, he did not know, as a web developer, that Voat was using Markdown syntax.

Edit: something else that just came to mind, those irc servers that were initialized within the same time-frame were mostly idle/empty as well. I guess they were set up for the show, too.

This was not the case. Of course they targeted Voat. It had at least two single-page websites that just happened to list Voat's name there and connected to other empty websites. If I remember correctly, they even listed irc.voat.co with 4 or so other domains. That would make it easy for others to point their fingers. I believe Deram also pointed out that the impiricalfamily had much bigger resource at their disposal and should not need to utilize Voat's irc. So it had no reason for Voat's name to be associated there, other than to make Voat look guilty.

I remember when those details broke, it's almost a gamergate level mystery going on. I remember thinking someone should appeal to /pol/ for help; but then again it's not the same animal it used to be.
