About 1.6 years ago, some of the SBBH folks found out that Voat got involved with PIA and believed they were angel investor and/or possibly owned Voat. If I remember correctly, there was a third party that tried to ride on this narrative multiple times. When many accounts were involved with astroturfing, there was very little a single individual could do. Many regular users made the decision of ignoring the drama. I decided to break up with the situation, by spamming the subject out of proportion, so more users could see what was going on The spammed content is still on SearchVoat's search engine. I am not sure about the original submission that started it (probably submitted under /v/ProtectVoat or /v/Whatever).
The funny part came in a little bit later. I got a group PM out of the blue. It had extensive analysis of who was behind the spamming and how it was connected to specific username. And I just sat there LMFAO . No one suspected a thing about me. I had to come clean and admit to the group and promise not to do it again. In my opinion, the main account deserved a ban for spamming.
