Wayback has become a dickhead.

Sorry

Tor clients have already done 150,000 captures today. Please email us at "infoarchive.org" if you would like to discuss this more.
It appears that wayback has a daily quota of 150,000 captures on Tor clients combined. If we have 10,000 people archiving on Tor, each one would get to archive 15 links at most   Very generous of them.

I received this error and I'm not even on a Tor client.
I tried, again, a bit later and was able to archive with no problem.

Wayback has exceeded its normal level of dickhead, today. What's the next level?

Remember what Jen Psaki said about banning people across all platforms?
That's where it's going.
They'll start sharing and compiling profiles across all the big sites -- yes, Internet Archive, too -- to expunge those with incorrect opinions from the public square.
You already need to have an account to view a lot of material (borrow-only) and they freely remove content, so I believe the Internet Archive is already on board.
And if she's saying it on the record, then you know they've already initiated proceedings privately.

Actually, I had to look up who she is. I don't pay much attention to all the bad actors names. But I can imagine what she said. The reason I learned to archive in the first place is because I don't have accounts, and was unable to view a lot of content. Taking away views and shekels from the sites, is just an added bonus. If they take away the Internet, I'm going to cover this country's telephone poles and bulletin boards with paper. LOTS and lots of paper.

@con77 is doing something similar but on a single-board scale. He has gotten good positive feedback IRL.

Here's the press briefing where she said that.
By the way, have you tried using the archive.today plug-in?
It adds a right-click context auto-archive-link feature that makes saving so much easier than the old cut-and-paste way.

I saw that! It's so awesome. I think It's better to be a moving target, than to stay in one place, though. Much too chicken for that. bawk-bawk

Thanks for the link. I have not tried any extra do-dads, from any site.
