So I was thinking about assassinating some politicians.

You know,as a mental exercise. Considering possibilities, outcomes, probable consequences, you know,as you do. No one in particular, just a "high ranking rich asshole type". For some reason he was on a yacht in a marina. And I had a weird thought. Like what if you just assassinated a guy and then the guy you just assassinated walked in and caught you? You'd have so many questions. Like "wut?" And "Did I just kill the actual guy or a body double?"
This all leads into something that's been bugging me for a while. See,one of the things I never understood is why aren't politicians under constant attack? Nobody likes them, most people agree they're garbage and should be killed. So why are they able to go outside at all? Then it occurs to me. What if they are? We know body doubles are a thing and politicians use them all the time. What if they're being killed, both body doubles and the real politicians, all the time. They're just being replaced constantly.
You could keep the same "politicians" going for decades. They only "die" once they no longer serve a purpose or they're too "old" to plausibly keep them going. It would explain why none of them seem to remember a stance they had even a few weeks ago. This is a whole new politician who's only just taken the role and doesn't know what their predecessor said in public. They're just following the bosses' script for what needs to be said now.
