Unfortunately, the covid excuse to not see your loved one in the care home is way too convenient for a lot of people who wouldn't have visited anyway, covid or not . Rest homes are not the answer for the end of the road care: family care as was done in the past is what should be the norm."Rest" homes are brain numbing warehouses for the elderly staffed by low paid caregivers. But people are too "busy" with their careers, children, vocations, etc to take care of the ones that took care of them when they were dependent babies. We treat them like refuse. What goes round, comes round.
