The Announcement, "Voat is Shutting Down!"

A subverse dedicated to satire, the occasional fun benning and hanging out. If it doesn’t make sense, it probably belongs here.

The Announcement, "Voat is Shutting Down!"

Post by MartinTimothy1 »

I will lay Voat upon the cross on December 25th 2020 at 12 noon PST. I have chosen Christmas as the day to do so in honor of the only True thing you will find in this world and that is Jesus Christ, the son of God, and the only way to the Father. I chose 12 noon in honor of the twelve disciples who spread the message of salvation to the world. In this way, my hope is that perhaps 12 people will carry the cross for Freedom of Speech and sacrifice part of their lives for an ideal in the way I did, but hopefully with much more success, glory, and reward. Link
Not withstanding this hypocritical bullsh*t .. the internet encompassing as it does Google, YouTube, the entire "Chan" group, Reddit and Voat is one vast Zionist conglomerate.

The true tragedy of the Voat closure from my perspective anyway, is my ten yrs or so of posts including the submission and comment histories from dozens of user names and thousands of entries, all of which had a strong anti Zionist leaning..

Dating from when V first appeared as Whoaverse which were instantly accessible 24/7 world wide, have been rendered inaccessible .. it is vicious censorship of the worst kind and nothing else, I suppose there are plenty of others who feel the same way.

While I agree that making a giant goat sacrifice on Christmas Day was a giant dose of gay drama I could have done without, I don't see the censorship. Looks to me like all your stuff -- going back 7 years -- is all still there, Martin.

And there is a link on Voat's old landing page leading to SearchVoat. So, how is it being censored?

You're welcome. @SearchVoat archive is a very excellent tool. It's worth taking a minute to learn how to use. Pay special attention to those toggle buttons in the sidebar, and to the tabs at the top ("View desktop site" if on mobile). Search for any keyword, from any username or subverse. Voat is LOADED with very interesting information that has been scrubbed from most other platforms. Note: A lot of links that may appear broken in old v/pizzagate submissions are actually available as archives on archive.is. Derram usually has some posted in the comments, and also the entire submission url can be pasted into archive.is, at which point many of the links will link to archives of their original urls also, thanks to archiving efforts by @MadWorld.

Voat's redpilling days are by no means over. It only appears that way on the surface.

Just a tip in case people need it to try it sometime: Using SearchVoat today I found an old post which had a [text](link) to another voat post within it. That link didn't work because (as we all know) voat is kaput. So I archived the post and the link then worked because it was also archived. I was able to access it that way.

Goat sacrifice on Christmyth day is the part people are overlooking. Everything the Controllers do always has spiritual and symbolic meaning. The goat of atonement is the one that is sacrificed on an altar. The scapegoat is the one chased into the wilderness to starve to death/ chased over the edge of a cliff. This obvious ritual would appear to have been the goat of atonement. It's where all their sins are layed on the head of the goat and washed away with its blood. Which begs the question: what was he atoning for?
I think it was a set up from the start, out of all the symbols or mascots available, we're supposed to believe the choice of a goat was coincidental?

This is an interesting observation and question. I actually think it's more the scapegoat, in this case, since Putt could have sacrificed us all, but chose to give us warning so we could salvage our accounts and communities. We were merely driven into the wilderness. I would bet some coin that SearchVoat had a slightly longer advanced notice, since he upgraded his servers a few weeks beforehand and was all ready to go with passwords for everyone and a new forum site.

I believe that choice was Atko's, and it is because he lives in Switzerland (@PeaceSeeker or @Cynabuns would have to confirm that, though), where goats are ubiquitous. They are nimble survivors, can climb any obstacle, eat just about anything, produce delicious cheese and the world's softest, warmest and most luxurious wools (Mohair and Cashmere). They're known for outsmarting trolls. And, goat rhymes with vote and makes a cleverly misspelled site name Voat. I think they are a terrific mascot for what he wanted to create.

@SearchVoat please see parent. Can Voat-to-Voat embedded links be fixed in the SearchVoat archive? Most subverses aren't fully backed up to archive.is like v/pizzagate.
