Poll: What to do about "NSFW" material?

My firm commitment is to allow all US-legal speech here.

Motivated by my desire to preserve the site as a free speech bastion, I implemented NSFW (somewhat like Voat). If some random follows a link here and sees "I hate niggers" they may decide we deserve to be attacked - via DDOS or subversion or pile-on or however - and I would prefer not to have to apply time, resources and motivation to dealing with that.

Obviously it would be great to ignore that risk and just speak freely to the world. But there are practical considerations. Seemed like a no-brainer.

Then I was surprised to see opposition to the categorization of so-called "offensive" material here as NSFW. (I use "offensive" in quotes because obviously we're not all "offended" by the same things.)

This isn't a democracy, I can't promise to be bound by the votes here, but I do want to hear the arguments and encourage the debate.

This is a good point. Visitors, search engines see vanilla subs. Registered users can choose. Makes good sense to me.

Leave the tag. The last thing we want is to draw unwanted attention from the kikes and their supporters. I would rather have people seek us out than some random reddit tard stumble upon this place.
Plus, the NSFW tag on subverses like Jews and Niggers is a way to protect someone who may think to read it at work on an unsecure connection. I don't want anyone losing their jobs and having their families starve because they were caught at work reading a NSFW subverse.

Not OP, but problem with admit is that he is pissing with our efforts to make this place semi decent. When VOAT went down we had many alternatives some even created subs for us. We chose least popular with only few members.

This is like your first "damned if I do, damned if I don't" moment

I think there is no pleasing or avoidance for the subject of antisemitism or "offensive" speech. If a visitor comes to searchvoat.co/forum, he will eventually find antisemitic or "offensive" content by either login account or "misplaced" submissions to non-NSFW subverses. Users who disagree with NSFW being hidden from view can easily choose to workaround it by submitting to visible subverses. I think this would generally lead to much of our energy being spent on policing ourselves of what we could say in public.

I would personally like to see all legal content visible without login. The ones NSFW could be tagged w.r.t. each submission. For the viewing of NSFW content, it could even be a non-login setting option to toggle show/hide NSFW content.

This is your site, it is your burden to carry in regard to publicly viewable content... It will affect whether this place becomes a casual visit or a place to stay around. I think right now it makes very little difference, because our community is not big enough to attract attention. It is also small enough where lost Goats can find their way here.
