Need help - how to on inserting URL

On Voat, I could type some words, select them, and click the insert URL link, paste the link, and it would add the url and make my words clickable. Doesn't work the same on this forum, can't figure out how to make my words clickable, so I'm typing the words, then adding the url at the end. Any easy to follow instructions, or make the insert URL icon work the old way? Thanks.

It's BBCode. Try this:

Ok, finally figured out the correct syntax using BBCode.
Type this: [url=
Then put your link, followed by a close bracket ]
Immediately type your title/clickable wording after the close bracket
Then type this to close out the line [/url]
How to make a clickable link using BBCode
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I was looking, myself. On Voat, I could learn the tricks simply by looking at the "source". We could use a source function under posts.
Aside from that, if there's any real expection of growth here, there should probably be a basic tutorial. Things that seem intuitive, I find are not when I interact with people over 50 or females of most ages.

I'll look into that idea about showing the source.
As for an expectation of growth, I don't know what the future holds. I'll do my best to build this place, but there are other alternative Voat 2.0s out there, or reportedly coming soon, so we'll see. The most important concrete things I can offer are just (1) the Voat archive, and (2) Voat username authentication for those that got a password here.
