I never checked.. Did Epstein ever fly into Monterey? In 2002, perhaps?

https://www.wired.com/story/global-girl ... a-express/
The Twisted Flight Paths of ‘Global Girl’ and the Lolita Express
Model-turned-pilot Nadia Marcinko, an alleged accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, is among a group of girls who came to the Epstein syndicate—presumably by plane—from abroad.

Marcinko’s flights are somewhat harder to pin down, as girls in Epstein’s circle were often recorded only by first names or initials. The name Nadia appears in 2003, and “Nadia Marcinkova” appears on a manifest for a flight out of Palm Beach in 2004. Then “NM” starts to show up on nearly every manifest for both one of the Gulfstreams and the Lolita Express. While “NM” was generally noted zipping among airports in Palm Beach, Florida, Monterey, California, and New York, she also visited Columbus, Ohio, Newfoundland, and Terceira Island in the Azores. A pilot for Epstein testified that Marcinko had flown with Epstein hundreds of times.
Nicole Junkermann was another "model" with a pilot's license - or maybe I'm wrong about that

Rudi Dekkers (born July 27, 1956) is a Dutch businessman, convicted drug trafficker, and former owner of Huffman Aviation, a flight school in Venice, Florida, who became the subject of worldwide attention on September 12, 2001, one day after September 11 attacks after it was revealed Dekkers had trained two of the 9/11 hijackers

In 1983, he met Bill Gates and as a result set up a computer business in the Netherlands via Miami, bypassing tax authorities, and becoming one of the first computer dealers in the Netherlands. In between working as a broker and the computer business, he obtained his pilot's license at Teuge Airport

"Rudi Dekkers: from multimillionaire and flight teacher from 9/11 terrorist Atta to coke smuggler ": https://panorama.nl/artikel/488275/rudi ... smokkelaar
What is this 'Flying Dutchman', who recently left the prison of Heerhugowaard, doing in Medellin again?..

At a conference in the mid-1980s, he met Bill Gates, who walked in trading computers. Rudi took that trick off his hands, set up a thriving computer business in our country via Miami, bypassed the tax authorities, and became adept at traveling with the poet. In between the companies he had obtained his pilot's license at Teuge airport. In 1993 he emigrated to Florida, where he became the wealthy owner of two flight schools. One in Venice and the other in nearby Naples, where he lived comfortably..

Financially, things are still going strong for the former multimillionaire. Few people from his past are still in contact with him. One of those few is the Dutchman Arne Kruithof, who also had a flight school in Florida at the time of 9/11. And he too had to deal with the Al Qaeda hijackers. Kruithof was training Ziad Jarrah, the terrorist who piloted the plane that crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. But unlike Dekkers, Kruithof avoided the media and managed to keep his flying school going. He listens to the dire circumstances of Rudi Dekkers via telephone contact. “I've never been so poor in my life,” he heard him say. But shortly afterwards Kruithof saw via Facebook how Rudi flew nice trips to South and Central America.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teuge_Airfield
Teuge Airfield (Dutch: Vliegveld Teuge) or Teuge International Airport (ICAO: EHTE) is a general aviation airfield 4.5 nautical miles (8.3 km; 5.2 mi) west from Deventer and 3.5 nautical miles (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) northeast from Apeldoorn.[1] It is located in the village of Teuge, part of the Voorst municipality in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands.

The airfield was constructed for civilian use in 1935. During World War II, it was used by the German Luftwaffe. Under their control, the airfield was improved and expanded; however, it did not see much use. According to historical records, the Royal Air Force used Teuge as an Advanced Landing Ground with designation B-95. After the war, it was returned to civilian control.

Lakewood High School, Tampa 1998 article by KATHRYN BOWDEN :

30 years of love comes home https://www.tampabay.com/archive/1998/0 ... omes-home/
With children, Elizabeth "Betty" Daughtry seems to be a pied piper. They appear drawn to her side.

Daughtry's hands were never idle Friday night even as she received praise from a crowd of party guests. Seemingly as natural a function as breathing, she reached out to a child to rub her back, hold his hand or wrap her arms around his shoulders...

Children young and not-so-young took turns at a surprise party honoring Daughtry's 30 years (and still counting) as a teacher and director at Lad 'N Lass Pre-school, 5995 Dr. M.L. King (Ninth) St. S.

"Betty is so gentle, loving and caring," said Arlene Norenberg, a volunteer with the school. "My son, Leif, was a student of Betty's 30 years ago when she first started, and she was always his favorite...

The celebration began with a surprise as Daughtry entered Lakewood United Methodist Church to a standing ovation with both daughters by her side and the rest of her family waiting at the front of the church. Like a blushing bride, Daughtry walked toward the front of the church, reaching out to shake hands and return hugs from row after row of admirers.

Midge Watson, a former director of Lad 'N Lass who has known Daughtry for 22 years, likes to tell the story of a mother who once came to her and said, "You know, a child can never grow up until he or she has had Betty as a teacher," the parent said.

Born and raised in Rocky River, Ohio, Daughtry began working with children as a teenager, often babysitting three or four at a time.

After graduating from high school in 1954, Betty visited Florida for the first time and fell in love with the water and the beaches.

"My whole life I just loved the beaches on Lake Erie, and once I saw St. Petersburg Beach, I just knew I had to live here." So, in 1956, Daughtry packed up and moved to St. Petersburg with her new husband and raised a family of two boys and two girls.

Two of her four children were enrolled at Lad 'N Lass, and when the youngest was ready to move on to kindergarten in 1963, Daughtry was offered a job as a teacher's aide. From there, she became a teacher and, after 23 years, she was promoted to director while still holding on to her teaching job...

Some of the children Daughtry nurtured have returned to the preschool with their own kids.

"When my doctor told me I was pregnant, I thought: Well, this child's going to Lad 'N Lass, and she did," said Jennifer Sakiotis, who attended Lad 'N Lass in 1962.

Julie Junkermann, a sophomore at Lakewood High School, remembered her favorite time was sitting around the circle in Daughtry's class.

"When we sang songs, that was my favorite time," Junkermann said. "The other day I stopped by the school and thought: "Whoa! Everything looks so small _ the chairs, the tables, the little sink to wash our hands.'"..

Julie Junkermann's mother, teacher Lisa Junkermann, credited Daughtry with scouting her seven years ago.

"I never knew I had a gift and such a love of working with children and, because of Betty's vision and suggestion, she's the reason I'm where I am today," she said. "I am so thankful to her not just for helping me, but for contributing so much to our school and to our community through her wonderful work with all the children over the years. She's really made a difference."

Daughtry feels she was destined to work with children.

St. Petersburg is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. It is the largest city in the state that is not a county seat (the city of Clearwater is the seat of Pinellas County).[5] Along with Clearwater, these cities are part of the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area, the second-largest in Florida with a population of around 2.8 million.[6] St. Petersburg is on the Pinellas peninsula between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, and is connected to mainland Florida to the north

Lamia is a close confidante of actor Tom Cruise, the posterboy of Scientology, and she moved to Clearwater, Florida, in 1996 where one of the self-styled Church’s elite centers is based.

Lamia also used her birth name to set up a charity in her home country, called Children for Peace, which is suspected to be a front for Scientology’s fundraising and propaganda efforts. The charity is registered at a law firm in Turin and counts aristocrats and celebrities among its board, including Ivana Trump.

Her son Ali is deeply embedded in Scientology. Born in Florida in 1980, he was taught by Bob Rich, a discreet member of its ‘Sea Organization’ management structure in Clearwater. He was involved with fellow Scientologists David Lurie in a Clearwater-registered company called galayxart.com Inc. and with Eli Goldenberg in 2 Save Big Inc.

The Flag Building, also referred to as the Super Power Building, is the largest building in Clearwater, Florida. It is owned by the Church of Scientology and was built principally to deliver the Super Power Rundown, a high-level Scientology training course intended to train Scientologists to use what Scientology describes as all of their 57 "perceptics" or senses.

The complex occupies a city block at 215 South Fort Harrison Avenue. It includes a 15-story tower topped by a bronze Scientology cross visible from much of Clearwater. Construction began in 1998, was halted in 2003, and was ultimately resumed to reach substantial completion during 2011.

The architectural firm HOK was hired to deliver the project

HOK was established in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1955. The firm's name is derived from the surnames of its three founding partners: George F. Hellmuth, Gyo Obata and George Kassabaum

By the mid-1960s, the firm was winning commissions across the United States and began to open additional offices, starting with San Francisco in 1966 for the design of a library at Stanford University and Dallas in 1968 for the master planning and design of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Also in 1968, HOK launched its interior design practice. HOK also expanded into Washington, D.C., after winning the commission to design the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

Lisa and Richard Junkermann were close friends of Bruce BOORE
https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/ta ... d=11649201
Bruce was born in St. Petersburg, into the restaurant family of Aunt Hattie's and Uncle Ed's which were owned and operated by his father and grandparents.

Bruce was a graduate of Lakewood High School and The Culinary Institute of America.

.. he successfully established Hattie's Cafe and Beanery in Lutz, and was recently recognized as one of the Top Ten Tampa Bay breakfast spots. Bruce's commitment to the public good was always at the forefront and was evidenced by his establishment of "Glean St. Pete" where he organized the removal of citrus fruit from neighborhood trees and donated it to those in need.

Aunt Hattie's brings back memories savory and not - Tampa Bay Times https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2002/0 ... y-and-not/
Aunt Hattie's first was a hamburger hot spot, established in 1939 by Ed and Hattie Boore. It evolved into a landmark for home-cooked food and offbeat promotions.

"It was a way of life to many," said Bruce Boore, 45, Ed and Hattie's grandson.

"It was oranges in the foyer free for the taking, the player piano beating out East Side, West Side, hostesses in Gay Nineties garb, the children's treasure chest of free gifts," journalist Elizabeth Whitney wrote. "The servings were big; the prices were low."

In 1937, the Boores commuted between here and Canada while operating a Central Avenue fruit stand and an Ontario boardinghouse. A promoter victimized them in 1939 by taking off with their investment in a Hollywood, Fla., skating rink concession.

To recover their loss, which included proceeds from their Buffalo, N.Y., property, the Boores rented an unimposing beer garden at 625 First St. S with their final $300.

"(Hattie) hung out a sign that said Aunt Hattie's and headed for the kitchen," a restaurant history reads. "Ed and their son, Frank, peeled potatoes, scrubbed pots and ran errands."

Recruits at the nearby Coast Guard base hungered for Hattie's 10-cent hamburgers, and sales ballooned. "It was a windfall," Frank said.

In 1970, Hattie's named Ross Giunta its general manager and opened Uncle Ed's Restaurant one block away. By 1979, Giunta had purchased controlling interest in Hattie's, and his $250,000 investment helped Hattie's battle a withering tourist trade and escalating coffee prices...

In 1986, Chase Bank of Florida foreclosed a $135,000 mortgage on Hattie's equipment and antiques. The city purchased the property and donated it to USF. The restaurant was leveled about 1988; Hattie died a year later in Farmington, N.M.

BANK OF TAMPA // Glad to preserve its independence - https://www.tampabay.com/archive/1997/1 ... ependence/
1997

The employees and shareholders of the Bank of Tampa truly came to treasure their bank when they realized it was about to disappear.

It was January 1995. AmSouth Bancorp was a week from closing a deal to merge with the fast-growing Tampa bank. It came to a vote of shareholders, with 66 percent of the shares needed to approve the $32-million deal.

Only 53 percent of the shares voted for the deal, one of the few times that a bank deal has derailed after being announced. The Bank of Tampa remained Hillsborough County's largest independently owned bank, and since then has taken off, earning 1.44 percent on its assets in 1996 and matching that performance so far this year...

Doctors, lawyers and small business owners choose the Bank of Tampa for discreet service provided in branches that look like wings of a palace. The bank recently spent $1-million renovating one branch, on Armenia Avenue.

With the NationsBank-Barnett merger, Divers doesn't predict the bank's $258-million in assets will see much of a spike, nor does the bank plan any extensive advertising push to gain more assets.

Still, the merger will accelerate Divers' plans to put more branches in areas with lots of professionals, including a plan to possibly expand across Tampa Bay to the Ulmerton Road area of Pinellas County. "We think that area seems to orientate to Tampa," he said.
Banker seeking $17.2-million for art museum https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2003/0 ... rt-museum/
2003

The new fundraising chair for the Tampa Museum of Art has a confession.

"I'm not arty," says Jerry Divers.

He collects very little art. He seldom travels and visits few museums while out of town. Nor is his wife, Jean, into the arts much.

What Divers knows is money.

He is president of the Bank of Tampa. Finance has been his life for more than 40 years.

..The museum was only one of many community service projects for Divers. The list includes the Florida Association of Blood Banks and the Spring of Tampa Bay, the shelter for abused women.

Divers was a museum trustee for eight years, serving as chair one year. He was also on the museum's long-range planning task force, which brainstormed ideas for a new facility. This was even before architect Rafael Vinoly came on board.

It was Divers who suggested Ferman, a long-time supporter of the museum and collector of art, to head the capital campaign, which kicked off last June.

In a year, Ferman raised $15-million: $11.4-million from private individuals and $3.6-million from corporations.

Then, Ferman's father died and he asked Divers to drive the project home.

"We are very enthusiastic about Jerry Divers taking the lead in our capital campaign," said Emily Kass, museum director. "He is a community leader and absolutely passionate about the museum."

Divers, 67, grew up in Clearwater, in the days before air-conditioning and Scientology, he loved boats and loved to fish. His father ran a small plant that froze the fish caught in the Gulf...

When Flagship was sold to SunBank, Divers decided not to stay.

Instead, he and others launched the Bank of Tampa in 1984. In the big pond of banking, it is a small fish.

The Bank of Tampa has 211 employees and nine locations, including headquarters on Bayshore Boulevard. Divers' office overlooks Bayshore.

Divers has raised money before; about $4-million 20 years ago for Berkeley Preparatory School. But never has he had a goal of $17.2-million.

Salvador Dali Museum

Salvador Dalí Museum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Dal%C3%AD_Museum
Shortly before marrying in 1942, Reynolds and Eleanor Morse attended a Dalí retrospective at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Intrigued by the artist's subject matter, and impressed by his draftsmanship, they bought their first painting a year later. This purchase began a 40-year relationship as patrons and friends of Dalí that resulted in a comprehensive collection of original Dalí work.

Until 1971, the Morses displayed their collection in their Cleveland, Ohio, home.

In March 1971, with Salvador Dalí presiding over the opening, the Morses opened a museum adjacent to their office building in Beachwood, Ohio.[9] By the end of the decade, with an overwhelming number of visitors, the Morses decided to again move their collection.

A Wall Street Journal article titled, "U.S. Art World Dillydallies Over Dalí," caught the attention of the St. Petersburg, FL community, who rallied to bring the collection to the area [Petersburg lawyer Jim Martin read the article]. A marine warehouse in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida was rehabilitated and the museum opened on March 7, 1982,[9] where it remained until 2010.

In mid-2008, a new location for the Dali museum was announced. A new building was designed by Yann Weymouth of the architectural firm HOK and built by The Beck Group under the leadership of then-CEO Henry C. Beck III.
HOK also designed the Church of Scientology Flag Building.
