Some good people on Poal and it's great to see familar goats there. I hope search voat survives though as Poal is like a vaccation where the differences in culture is interesting. Coming here is like arriving back home where the rules are clear.

I've been posting up a storm of breaking news on POAL since VOAT was put to rest. When I first arrived there, posts were infrequent compared to VOAT GreatAwakening and QRV, the two subverses I spent most of my time reading. I tried to repeat what I did on VOAT in QStorm. The first day I pumped out 24 posts, things went well. It felt kind of like VOAT with new GUI, some familiar names, no down votes. The second day I was there was a nightmare, all kinds of adverse comments, little focus on new information to digest and far more focus on blaming joos, niggas, shitposts, personal attacks, etc. Maybe a product of dumping all goats from all VOAT subverses into QStorm. Since then most of the folks posting negative comments seem to have moved on to other POAL subverses more to their liking or other forums. QStorm subscriptions have increased from about 200 when I arrived to 633 as I type. Top posts were scoring 10 pts, now 25 pts is a great post (compared to VOAT's 300-500pt posts). I had over 225K SCV pts on VOAT when it closed up shop, I've posted a lot.

There are a handful of high posters working to recreate the culture of GreatAwakening in QStorm. We keep the new page lively at least 20hrs a day. I'm a news junkie and posting breaking news is my best contribution, I do some digging but posting news and commenting is about it. I would like to see QStorm thrive. An anon created a QRV subverse on POAL a couple of weeks ago, but it is not anonymous (handles are displayed) and off to a slow start.

I like the searchvoat forum, but am still getting familiar with it. I like a fast paced board or "new" page, searchvoat isn't there yet. I'm learning more about goats opinions regarding old VOAT subverses and competing forums. Interesting perspectives.

The way I see it, POAL is like the old VOAT with new GUI and a regulated down vote. I seldom downvoated in the past unless a post or comment was spam, gross porn or over the top nasty ... so not down voting on POAL is not a big transition for me. Lots of familiar handles there from GreatAwakening, theawakening and a couple other VOAT subverses. At the moment I'm comfy and each day it feels a little more like VOAT to me.

You goats that lived in other VOAT subverses could recreate them on POAL. You have the ability to create your own. All you need is to get enough of the old goats to subscribe to it. Like I said, an anon is attempting to revive QRV there, just needs more goats to make the board lively, to attract more activity. I loved QRV on VOAT.

So, after my lengthy dissertation, I'm happy enough with QStorm and Searchvoat for the moment. I suggest goats check back on QStorm once in a while to monitor the activity level and cultural shift. You might be enticed to subscribe. The board has improved dramatically compared to pre-Christmas. Goats make up at least 2/3s of the subscribers now. The board is busy, lots of activity and respectful thought inducing commentary as it was on GreatAwakening. My 2¢.

You can get a sort of New page. In day mode go up to to the hamburger button. In that dropdown there are various Views, New Posts being one of those.

Or you can change to Dark Mode and the format of the site changes a little and theres a New Posts button up top.

I like the searchvoat forum, but am st ... here yet.

Lurker17, Great to see you on SearchVoat...

I like seeing the venerable old names here!
I respect what you've said, and I thank you for taking the time to say it!

VOAT was a unique website unlike any other. The value in VOAT, was the GOATS that called it home, most of them were bat-shit crazy, but all of them wanted a place where they could share information, and say whatever they wanted without worrying about being "politically correct". (There was a fair amount of garbage that came through VOAT that I would have personally censored, but hey, that's just me.)

SearchVoat may not be "there" yet, but consider where it is now knowing that the SearchVoat forum has only been around since Christmas Day. A fair amount of changes have happened in a very short time, that have enhanced the user experience. It really will be worth it to watch this place become the next full scale VOAT. As I've said before in other posts, this place has the VOAT DNA, no other online forum site can claim that. If this place goes under, VOAT goes under forever, and does not come back! Personally, I believe every goat that cried about losing VOAT needs to have a presence here on SearchVoat.

Work through the growing pains, It'll be worth it. AND if you can, work to get those wayward GOATS back... Maybe the name of this forum should be officially changed to SearchVoat: A home for wayward Goats.

Thanks isnark! Someone posted a link to searchvoat on POAL, otherwise I would not have known it existed. I have a some catching up to do here on searchvoat. Does Puttitout own/control searchvoat? My understanding is that he also owns/controls POAL. You may be right, searchvoat may be the final destination, especially if there is known ownership and some guarantee of support. POAL hasn't glitched yet, unlike past VOAT uptime, and after you shut off the stupid falling snowflakes it is pretty good.

I think SearchVoat the user is a different guy.

Oh, when I typed searchvoat, I meant that it was posted as a link to this forum, not referring to anon searchvoat. I had no idea this forum existed prior to that post.

You're a different user to LurkedForever on voat and poal I assume? I'd appreciate it if you could invite that user here next time you're on poal?

Yes, I'm a different anon than LurkedForever. I just relayed your request to LurkedForever on POAL a few minutes ago, so he will get it.
