It doesn't have to be a "clone". The esprit, ethos, is more important.
Even this board is preferable to a shiny site run by pms'ing mods and owners.

I would definitely be interested. I'm very grateful to have this forum in lieu of Voat, but holy shitballs I nearly fucking had a stroke this morning when I realised Putt...well Puttitout
Please do it if you can. I'm a mere talentless professor, but I'll test or do anything I can if I can to help.
I will start writing the software. I try to finish it faster than my initial estimation because I can also use it for something else. The software is going to be open source (GPL). I'm going to host it and its going to be as free as voat was. The code is written from scratch and I optimize everything for high loads/traffic so it does not crap out every 5 minutes like voat did. And I make it more anonymous, no logging, additional .onion service etc. The design and features will be the same as voat and then extended once its running.
Please get a crew together. Everytime I seen some new site go up, there's alot of energy & optimism. Then it starts to flag, and it reflects on the site. Life happens. One person can only be in one place at one time.

I have one additional person whom I can trust. He is going to be a second admin (and developer) so we spread the workload and always have a backup admin. Maybe we get more people later.

This seems to be a Voat clone and I love Voat so I love this. Seriously, this site works just fine for me so I give it 2 thumbs up.

This is why you need to register your domain at a different provider than your server. You hide the server behind something like cloudflare so no one knows where you host your content. Another approach would be how dailystormer is doing it, they registered the domain over some china registrar and they host their content at VanwaNet, a "deepweb" service provider.
Note about using Cloudflare: theres direct government ties, and any site using Cloudflare's DDOS protection obfuscation, especially a Voat 2.0, a user is going to be tailed across any site that also uses Cloudflare DDOS protection or their 3rd party JavaScript stuff like cdnjs or ajax, so a definite profile can be built and possibly uncover a birth name account. Keeping us out of that tracking web makes it more expensive for them to identify us.

"the serious problem is that they provide SSL connections for all who use their service in a way that they become a man-in-the-middle. Your connection is only really encrypted up until the CloudFlare servers, after that the connection can simply be clear text. The connection is encrypted between the browser and CloudFlare, and between CloudFlare and the website if the website has a SSL certificate, but the communication in-between remains completely visible to CloudFlare."

"CloudFlare is a vigilante extremist organization who takes the decentralized web and centralizes it under one corporate power that controls the worlds largest walled-garden. A very large portion of the web (10%+) that was once freely open to all is now controlled and monitored by one central authority who decides for everyone who can see what web content. This does serious damage to net neutrality, privacy, and has immediate serious consequences"

There is already a Voat clone, and I suspect we will be hearing more about it in the days to come.
Waiting hopefully. Poals OK, but it's a little more genteel than Voat was.

Not an arcturian, I am human. Alex. I hate the arcturians, theyve caused me a lot of pain. I hate all aliens, theyre all spacekikes, they all need to die. The handle is a reference to this place, its a soul trap and a farm.
