Poal is winning and it makes the most sense. Don't know why the thread "Is there real interest in a voat clone?" is so popular, as that is EXACTLY what Poal is. The only person I know who got censored was one dude who wanted to post hentai (which generally consists of depicting underage girls getting raped by monsters), and pushing the limit with the administrators to make his point. You can argue hentai shouldn't be censored as it's fiction, but US legal code currently disallows it.
Ruqqus is a censored Reddit 2.0 shithole run by leftists. This place is all right, but BB forum, eh. It doesn't fill the shoes of Voat. No other place has the traction of Poal.

I deep-sixed my POAL account within a matter of days.
It's that bad you got rid of it? I'm indecisive where to 'settle down' myself.

I like ZeroNet because of the low cost of upkeep and permanence but I definitely get why some people wouldn't be into it. I've been trying to make content for ZeroVoat and 0Voat but I am not good at it.

Hey! Glad to see you on SearchVoat! I was a big fan of you LINUX sub on VOAT.
I hope that you stick around and resurrect that sub here or where ever VOAT ends-up.
POAL was pretty bad, they didn't understand the common useage of the downvote button.
I asked their Admin about that policy, and they told me that I could thumb-down posts and I would be ok as long as I wasn't predatory and went after specific users. The next think I know, I went from a positive 60 rating, to negative 100+. They claim "Say what you want" then censor you into oblivion! I don't need them! They can run their little comfort blanket circle jerk echo chamber without me!
Ended up being a blessing in disguise, because it brought me back here. I think other VOAT refugees will come back too, especially from POAL! I wasn't sure what was happening here, and I strayed from the farm. Lesson learned!

I wouldn't say POAL is winning, I'd say that desperate VOAT users are scrambling to find a solution to a problem that doesn't exist! What we have here is VERY good! And I suspect that it will evolve back into what VOAT was. Have patience, enjoy the ride!

My problem is that I lost Voat and 8Chan in a little over a year so I want something permanent at least as a backup.

Give Raddle.me or notabug.io a try as SearchVoat spins up. It's pretty remarkable that we have what we have here only 5 days after VOAT ended. Hope this gives you something to hang on to... Know that what's happened with VOAT and 8chan will continue as the holders of the keys to the technologies platforms ramp up their efforts to kill off sites like ours. The ones that remain will be too socially sanitized to want to join. Best of Luck to You.
As you do get out into the other sites, point them back to this site, especially the OG's (Old Goats).

Maybe the true winners are the friends we made along the way.
