I googled the lyrics and it says something like: I saw you dressed in yellow, with that jerk, who was imitating me. Does it mean that he was tryint to look like him? That doesn't sound very self-deprecating (not that there's anything wrong with that). Or that he was mocking him by doing a funny impression of him?
No you busted me. I realized afterwards I gave bogus info, got this confused with a different song. But I didn't bother to come back and post again because it didn't seem that important. Do you like the song?

Yes, it's very "comfy" in a way. I like the way they pronounce the letter G. I still want to know the untranslatable self-deprecating phrase you were talking about.

The g sound and r sound are what typify the Afrikaans language. Even better when both are found in one word, like "groot". Because you "roll" the r.
