I think the forum will continue to grow as it has verified users. That was genius and is an invaluable asset. It's definitely possible to create a voat like layout from a mesage board. I've created a basic front page before that displayed topic titles and looked voat-like. But getting everything working properly and implementing all the functions and features of the forum would be a pain. Probably is easier to create a new site.

While it is good for many Voat alternative to exist, there is sadly a limited incentive to join "yet another Voat clone" with a small user base.

Voat was one big union.

Voat was not flawless, but certainly better than AOU's hellh(p)ole which now allows users to censor each other.

If the site doesn't organically grow a decent sized userbase then I will shut down. I do not have the energy or motivation to grow a user base or promote the site.

This was a hobbby project and I've had my fun. It's up to you guys now to make it a success. If not, it's all good, I have other projects that deserve my attention.

There's an opportunity for you and me to collaborate on this. I like what you've done with the look-and-feel and coding. I'm a bit restricted here by the phpBB forum code, hard to bend it to get a better UI and it's missing core functionality like comment threads. Just putting it out there.
