Chord Progressions

Post by 1moar »

They're your friends. Obviously, used to write a song, vs. noodly noodly noodly. Which, yeah. Where's Buddha? I need Buddha.

Anyways, so, you want to play the blues. Generally speaking, any I-IV-V combination can get you closer. There are of course, variances...but largely, in any key, there you go.

i.e. - Key of E - E A B

Key of G - G C D.

et al.

If you can follow the root note, and know there are only 12 notes...then it's pretty simple to play these in any key. Hopefully the importance makes sense. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. RE: the # of notes, we'll get in to microtones later. Be well.

You're going to have to start adding 7th's, and minor chords eventually. I have an Em warm up I always do. Em - A - B7 with a proper turnaround at the end. Perhaps I should try making a video of that, it seems so simple to me now but back then it was foreign as anything. If you have any specific songs or artists you're trying to go after, let me know...hell I could use some study time.

We'll see how this goes, it may largely be keyboard diarrhea.
