GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston has arrested a 21-year-old Guatemalan national accused of multiple child sex crimes in Massachusetts.

Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz, who was unlawfully present in the U.S., was taken into custody on November 12 in Great Barrington.

De Paz-Munoz faces charges including rape of a child by force, rape of a child, and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older. Acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde of ERO Boston condemned the alleged crimes, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing public safety. “Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz stands accused of horrifically victimizing a Massachusetts child and represents a significant threat to our neighborhoods,” said Hyde. “ERO Boston remains committed to arresting and removing egregious noncitizen threats from the community.”

De Paz-Munoz entered the United States unlawfully on September 24, 2020, near Eagle Pass, Texas, without inspection or admission by an immigration official. He was released by U.S. Border Patrol with a notice to appear before an immigration judge.

On February 29, 2024, the Great Barrington Police Department arrested De Paz-Munoz on the aforementioned charges. ICE lodged an immigration detainer following his arrest; however, the detainer was ignored, and De Paz-Munoz was released on bail before ERO officers could take him into custody.

The Berkshire County Superior Court is pursuing charges against De Paz-Munoz, which remain pending. He
is currently in ERO custody.
