Poal and Voat DBs

Poal was created by some ex-goats when Voat was in trouble a couple of years back. It is effectively a Voat clone. There has been some debate on Voat about the extent to which Poal is truly "free speech".

Poal and Voat DBs

Post by murface »

Do we know how big the poal and voat DBs are?

I'm sketching out ideas on how to do a distributed forum. If the DBs are not too big ( < 100 GB ), it would be feasibly for a client application to store the forums offline, and to receive updates from a P2P network (for historic and real-time updates) and/or via something like LoraMesh (for real-time updates).

LoraMesh, while cool suffers from a limited range, but could be useful in bedroom communities to have a LM network to power 'local' only subs.

Nobody's get the db, might just add a search function linked to SV, start fresh.

I have absolutely no idea what you said but I upvoted you anyway.
