Woman allegedly tried to buy infant at Walmart in Texas for 500k.
A Texas woman was arrested after a bizarre encounter inside a Walmart store where she is accused of offering another shopper $500,000 to buy the woman’s baby, according to a report.
Rebecca Taylor, 49, was charged with sale or purchase of a child and was released from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office on a $50,000 bond.
The alleged incident occurred at a store in Crockett, Texas, near Houston. The two women were reportedly on the self-checkout line last week. The mother — who was with her baby and 1-year-old — told police that the woman commented on her son’s blond hair and blue eyes and asked how much he costs.
The report, citing the affidavit, said the mother laughed off the comment, but the woman allegedly said she had $250,000 in her car. The mom claimed another woman was with Taylor at one point. The mother said she alerted authorities.
The KETK report said the mother waited for the two women to leave the store, but they allegedly waited in the parking lot and screamed at her that the offer was now $500,000. The women eventually left, the report said.
Police said in the affidavit they watched video from the scene and it appeared to match the mother’s claim, the report said.
It is illegal in the US to buy a child. That’s human trafficking.
In the adoption world a pregnant woman can choose the parents she wants to give her baby to. She can meet them, interview them etc She can opt for an open/closed adoption. Her lawyers legal fees are paid for by the adoptee parents, the medical bills are paid for by the adoptee parents, almost always with money left over.
Hmmm. Sounds similar to buying a child.

Re: Woman allegedly tried to buy infant at Walmart in Texas
This story doesn't belong in PG. The woman was off her nut. There is nothing about this story that would lead one to believe it had anything to do with child sex trafficking.
If you believe the woman was really driving around Walmart with $250,000 in her car that she would be willing to spend on a stranger's kid after an encounter at the self check out... wtf dude
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/te ... ar-AAT2ZhYEven after the mother reportedly locked both of her children in her car, Taylor reportedly stood just behind the vehicle and continued to yell about wanting the child until the mother drove away.
Lt. Ahleea Price of the Crocket Police Department responded to the scene. After reviewing surveillance film from inside the store, the lieutenant reportedly said the footage matched the mother’s story. Lt. Price obtained a name and address for Taylor and attempted to question the woman at her residence.
“She told me that she doesn’t like thieves, then she stated I could speak with her attorney and to get off her ‘precipice.’ She slammed the door shut,” Price reportedly wrote in the affidavit.
