I can't login. However I couldn't log in a day before voat went down, and others could.

I can log in but the site is in "read only mode." Looks like people found a way around that by making polls, though.

I've also heard the preview site's chat might still be up.

Looks like the preview api is also still up, though my key no longer works so there's not much I can do there.

In addition to being able to make and communicate with polls, the chat is still up, but sparsely populated.

Private Messaging still works so long as the messages were composed before the site went down.

It's running on the same servers as the main site, but it's using a different database. If you can't login, your account might not exist in the preview database.


The fact that the preview subdomain is still up more than likely means that Putt might not have access to the domain host account.

What does that mean? He locked himself out, the proof being he probably would have closed preview.voat too? That would be funny.

The domain host is separate from the servers that host the site. Voat.co is the domain and preview is a subdomain.

If Putt had access to the domain host, he could just delete the preview subdomain without making any changes to site itself.
