An Afrikaans-language dating app has been launched and this is the very humorous and endearing ad for it.
It's a genius idea because it automatically filters out kaffers without saying anything about race. Do bear in mind however that Afrikaans is the also first language of many Cape Coloureds.

For those who are serious, I say jump in and be up front - say from the outset you are not in SA and don't speak Afrikaans (but would like to learn it). I don't know how many times on RealVoat guys used to ask me about dating SA ladies. Well here is your opportunity.

A bit about the ad.
Photo guy asks his single buddy if he's ready: Jacobus are you ready?
Single guy: Are my pants tight enough?
Photo guy: Yes, perfect, show a bit of calf. That's right big man.
Single guy: (this doesnt translate well) Dairy farmer (pose), "Shap" man (pose), meat man ((beefy guy/livestock farmer) (pose)). Are you getting my slim side?

Note: "shap shap" is a saying Afrikaners have taken over from blacks although i don't think anyone knows its origin. For example, If you ask a dodgy black street vendor for 1 kg oranges, he says "shap shap" and jumps to it. It means something like "no problem".

The closing line is a brilliant play on words. "Take an Afri-kans" (Arfikaans). "Kans" means chance. Take a chance with Koer. (Koer is the sound lovebirds make)
