A new ad featuring the Mayor of Toronto has aired, encouraging kids from the ages of 5 to 11 to come and get the COVID-19 vaccine. John Tory is joined on screen by two mascots from local sports teams, Carlton the polar bear from hockey team the Toronto Maple Leaves and the bright red mascot Raptor from basketball team the Toronto Raptors.
“We are holding a special and fun clinic just for kids ages 5-11 to receive their COVID-19 vaccine.
Be a superhero in the home of some of Toronto’s favorite sports teams.”
The mayor then went on saying:
”Our favorite mascots, the Raptor and Carlton the bear, they’ll be here welcoming you and cheering on all of Toronto’s newest superheroes. And that means you kids.
Let’s all get down here to Scotiabank Arena on December 12th.”
The ad is the latest in a string of advertising spots targeting children, including a Pfizer ad that pictured kids as superheroes and a Sesame Street ‘zoom call’ where Elmo talks about the vaccine.
