It went down at 2021-08-29 10:25. Less than 1 hour later (2021-08-29 11:18), it appeared to be wiped clean. The site is still down at the moment.

Someone reported it earlier on goatpen.

A note on votal.net, it was claimed to be setup for ruqqus refugees. But that place was heavily censoring any dissenting opinion and admins were taking over communities they did not create.

Edit: it appeared that votal.net tried to become the clones of saidit (saidit.votal.net) and ruqqus (2021-06-25) earlier, before it finally settled on Lemmy.

The discord cabal made it ahead of time, they know in advance when mass bans and purges are coming. They set it up just to take it away. Carpfag loves posting about it.

As it turned out, the website was not wiped at all. The cancerous admin most likely did it to hide the modlog, which TurdLord5000 utilized to promote preview.goatpen.co

It doesn't even have an editable swearword list for the mods. All the words are hard-coded and none can be removed or added. @antiliberalsociety, can you relay a message to votal.net admins? Tell them to change passwords and among other things. I am not sure if they did it on purpose, or if it was gross negligence.

On a second thought, the votal.net admin might try to claim that the site was "hacked", in order to cover up the supposedly tempered record on the modlog. That would be something interesting to observe when it comes back online.

if they REMOVED the "kike' filter, a hidden back door by lemmy can MAYBE remote wipe people taking out the swear filter.

or evil people like me could have means to take out a stock lemmy site on a generic docker on a standard vps site
