Luke Johnson, 37, chairman of Belgo Group PLC, has joined the
board of Nightfreight plc, the UK parcels carrier and
international logistics company, in a non-executive capacity.
A graduate of Oxford University, Mr Johnson has numerous
business interests. He worked as a stockbroking analyst at
Kleinwort Benson Securities from l984 to l988, before
launching himself into a successful business career. He was
chairman of PizzaExpress PLC until January 1998, having
organised its flotation in January l993. He took public and
served as a non-executive director at My Kinda Town plc, an
international restaurant and bar company which was sold to
Capital Radio in l996 for £54m.
Mr Johnson was also a founder and non-executive director of
American Port Services PLC, a group providing maritime and
aviation facilities based in the USA. This business was sold
to Associated British Ports PLC in June last year for £100m.
Mr Johnson has a 7.77 per cent shareholding in Nightfreight.
